Park Hill's history dates back to 1887 when Baron Alois Von Winckler began developing a 32 acre plot that he had purchased east of City Park. The first homes were sold in 1900 and the area attracted many European immigrants. By 1912 Park Hill had become one of the most popular residential districts in the city. Developments surrounding Park Hill began to pop up making it necessary to extend streetcar lines to the neighborhood which created more inviting boulevards and parkways than in any other area.

Today Park Hill consists of three sub-areas known as North Park Hill, South Park Hill and Northeast Park Hill. The friendly tree lined streets of this neighborhood are generally 10 degrees cooler than other Denver neighborhoods in the summer months. Park Hill's nationally recognized neighborhood organizes annual tours to welcome community to tour some of the finest examples of historic architecture in the region. From extraordinary mansions, delightful Tudors, hand crafted brick bungalows to simple ranches, this neighborhood is rich in history & character. There are also lovely shops & restaurants tucked along quiet streets that are locals favorites and are often kept very secret. Home owners also enjoy their close proximity to City Park, the Denver Zoo, the Museum of Science and Natural History, IMAX, golf courses and to downtown Denver.
